US Civilian...

Photo Sharing and Video Hosting at Photobucket

this guy was a US Civilian Contractor with a dog that sniffed out IED's (bombs). The dog got tired and set an IED off... the dog blew up and the man lost his eye and might loose his other eye. The man was freaking out and kept trying to take his bandages off. MSgt Thackery was trying everything he could to keep the man calm. Could you imagine that? loosing your dog, your eyesight, and the AF is going to send you home... so there goes your job too.

Why God?

This is just an innocent local little girl. Her and her brother (below) were just playing when a suicide bomber drove his car into a convoy and blew up his car right infront of these two kids. My unit was called in to pick these kids up and take them to our hospital on base. The little girl unfourtuately did not make it. The boy still lives and it is a miracle he did. The stuff on his belly is his intestines... the stuff that is supposed to be inside of him. Why God? Why does stuff like this have to happen to children? These kids did nothing wrong. The kids own people are the cause of this... the Taliban. Kind of puts a real perspective on why we are out here. Why does stuff like that have to happen to kids though?

6 weeks.....

I am extremely stoked because it is getting super close to the time I get to come home! I am going to go back to Kadena in the beautiful Okinawa, Japan and then in the last week of May I get to come home!!!!!!!!!! for about 2 weeks. I can hardly believe that it is almost time to come home! It has been too long since I walked the beaches of OC, California! I have been thinking a lot about getting out of active duty early and switching to the reserve side so I can come home and go to school. I havnt totally figured it out just yet though so we will see what happens. just a bunch of thoughts for now. Plus if I get out and do the job i do know in the outside... I start out at 148K a year... that is a pretty inticing number if you ask me. so who knows what is going to happen in my life. All I know is if I come home I'm going to have to find someone to room with! Cali is so expencive these days!

See you all super soon!

The Sandbox

Ya so this whole being in the desert thing... so not fun! I'm bored out of my mind. although I have had tons of time to do some reading. lol I have discovered an amazing book! Faith in the Fog of War. I recomend to anyone who has ever deployed to the desert or anyone who feels like they are at war spiritually. It is amazing! It is written by this Captain in the Army. anywhooo I am really tired so I will write some more amazing interesting stories about my lovely life out here in this desert paradise!
